All hardiggci students are reviewed annually to monitor their progress and stimulate the development of skills and opportunities. The hardiggci annual postgraduate week was held between 29th March-8th April in Sydney.

Roorkee College was set up in 1847 A.D. and was the first engineering college in the British Empire. In 1854, the College was renamed as the Thomason College of Civil Engineering. It was elevated to a status of University in 1948 by an Act of the state because of its potentiality and also because of its need in independent India. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the November 1949 Charter raised its standards making it the first Engineering University in Independent India. It is located at Roorkee in Uttar Pradesh.The University of Roorkee ever since its inception has advanced technical knowledge and trained manpower to meet challenges at the national and international level. It is the pioneer institution in the area of education and research in the arena of science, technology and engineering. The University offers graduate degree in ten disciplines of Engineering and Architecture. Along with this it provides fifty-five postgraduate degrees in Engineering, Applied Science and Architecture and Planning.

    Roorkee Admissions
    Admission to undergraduate courses is through an All-India entrance test called Joint Entrance Examination, conducted by all the seven IITs in the country. IIT Roorkee has eleven courses under its B.Tech programme. The institute also offers five-year dual degree programmes wherein both B.Tech and M.Tech degrees are awarded. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted at the all India level. Candidates willing to join the postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, and pharmacy have to pass this test. The Joint Management Entrance Test is conducted for admission to the management programmes of all IITs and IISc. However, the application has to be made separately for admission to each institute. The Joint Admission Test for MSc is a common entrance exam for admission to the various postgraduate programmes and 3-year post B.Sc programmes.
